More about Creekmoor Community Association
The Association (CCA) was formed in 1983 as a charitable organisation to, in broad terms, improve the quality of life for residents of Creekmoor. It holds the lease on the Community Centre on Northmead Drive, and manages the building, letting it out for use by local bodies or individuals. The Community Centre also houses the Social Club, an affiliated organisation offering a good value bar, and 'pub-style' amenities. All members of the Social Club must be members of the CCA, but it is possible to be a member of CCA without Social Club membership, at a reduced rate (check out 'Join Us' at the left for details of memberships).
The CCA went through a period of low activity in the late 90's until 2003 when a few people got together to revitalise it, leading up to thedrafting of a new constitution which was approved in May this year. Read the new constitution.
At the same time the Creekmoor Community Group agreed to join forces with the CCA, since their aims are pretty much the same.
For the moment, the bulk of effort and money goes on maintaining the Community Centre, but we want that to change, with more projects and activities for Creekmoor folk, though we will continue to work on improving the facilities at the Centre, and make it a place that meets the needs of all. See here for the Lettings Policy for the Centre.
