7. Environmental Advisor's Report
There is concern over plans for BoP countryside wardens, who have been asked to re-apply for posts as Rangers once their contracts end in April. Volunteer environment groups are concerned that a wider remit and unsuitable organisation structures will leave some areas of the environment vulnerable, with competent trained resources not having the capability to undertake the work that currently goes on.

8. Area Committee Feedback
No significant feedback.

9. TAG
See 15 below.

10. Strategic Partnership
A web portal is under consideration.

11. Community Centre
Nothing of significance to report other than as in 12 and 13 below.

12. CCA CCG Merger
This will be discussed at a joint meeting of CCG and CCA on 18th March. John G and Andy will discuss the implications and approach. Community Matters, the experts on charitable community organisations, have confirmed to CCA that there is no bar to CCG continuing to operate under its existing charter but as a committee of CCA. The merger will offer benefits to both organisations and to the community, offering a single focus for community-based activity.

13. Trustee Roles and responsibilities meeting
CCG members are invited to a meeting on 16th February at 7:30 pm in the Community Centre where a representative of Community Matters will be talking about the roles and responsibilities of charity trustees.

14. Urban Heath project update
A newsletter is available from John G or more information can be found on www.dorsetheaths.org.uk

15. Traffic calming
The extract below from the minutes of TAG explains the proposals for traffic calming in Creekmoor…

(a) Northmead Drive/Creekmoor Lane junction - mini roundabout at junctions, speed cushions in Creekmoor Lane to Upton Road to slow down approaching traffic - £14,000
(b) Creekmoor Lane/Beechbank Avenue junction - mini roundabout at junction, speed cushions in Beechbank Avenue to Broadstone Way to slow down approaching traffic - £19,000
(c) Woodpecker Drive/Longmeadow Lane junction - renew junction markings, extend centre line of Longmeadow Lane to encourage greater lane discipline - £1,000.
(d) Northmead Drive - pedestrian island adjacent elderly persons development - £8,000
(e) Various locations along Longmeadow Lane and Beechbank Avenue - 30mph speed roundels set in red surfacing - £3,000
(f) Miscellaneous - printing, consultation etc - £2,000
(g) Unallocated resource to be reserved until Park and Ride is fully operational - £3,000

Following objections to the speed cushions on Creekmoor Lane, TAG agreed…
(i) the proposal to install speed cushions in Creekmoor Lane and Beechbank Avenue be advertised;
(ii) the scheme as detailed in the report be approved subject to consideration of any objections raised during the advertisement of the speed cushions;
(iii) as part of this process a display be placed in the Library and Coop store and Keyline Builders Merchants with comment slips and the results be reported back to this meeting.
