7. Fund raising – Nick Squirrell has offered the ‘Bark Mulch’ which is currently on the heath as a possible fund raising idea. As long as we move it to a suitable site, we are able to sell it to raise funds.
Whit week (beginning 28/5) was suggested as a good week and we could use the proposed BMX site as an ideal place for cars to pull off the road and purchase the mulch. Also, a BBQ could be set up to raise additional funds,
A 4x4 plus a trailer is required to access the mulch.
Action – ALL, to find the transportation and consider the
BBQ idea plus manning the site. To be decided at the next meetings
8. Nick presented his ideas of enable the youngsters of Upton to access the BMX site from Upton without going across the heath. This would be via the woods alongside Upton Road and the official path from Upton Country Park. He is currently discussing his ideas with a Purbeck Council officer who happens to be an expert on BMX issues.
Date of next meetings: Wednesday 20 April and 11 May, 17:30, Creekmoor Youth Club
